A book that Ed Hawkins co-wrote prior to joining I Trust Sport has been awarded the prestigious title of 2021 William Hill Sports Book of the Year. Why We Kneel How We Rise, co-written with cricket legend Michael Holding, explores personal experiences of racism in sport from Black icon athletes including Naomi Osaka and Usain Bolt. Holding himself remains hopeful for change in the future, particularly through people educating themselves. The book was described by the judging panel for the award as "one of the most important sports books you will ever read".
Why We Kneel How We Rise is published by Simon & Schuster.
